7 – 29 JULY

Mandurah’s Eastern Foreshore will once again come alive this July (7 – 29) with the return of Winter Wonderland!

Celebrating everything we love about winter, Mandurah’s family friendly winter themed festival, Winter Wonderland offers a wondrous ice skating experience, complete with falling ‘snow’ for the quintessential family fun day or night out!

The rink is accessible for all, including wheel chairs and ‘wheely friendly’ sessions throughout the season.

There are special ice skates and penguins for tiny tots (and big skaters) that require a little more help on the ice and plenty of late night skate sessions for that perfect first date, or a fun night out with your loved ones.

Relax inside Flic’s Kitchen Cabin Bar, a warm and cosy space to treat yourself to an amazing bite to eat while sipping on some warming winter bevies. If the winter food and drinks isn’t enough to excite you, check out the themed nights, music, entertainment and more, igniting the Cabin Bar throughout the festival.

An exciting new addition to this year’s Winter Wonderland experience are the custom-made fire pits, keeping you warm on a perfect chilly winter night! Cuddle up with family and friends and watch in wonder at all the ice skating action. or grab a marshmellow and roast up a sweet treat!

The Winter Village will come alive on weekends with local markets, carnival rides, pop up cafe by Mataya and other local businesses, FREE face painting, Wildlife Rescue with joeys and lots of prizes to be won. And the best bit – the Winter Village is all under cover! Open 10am – 5pm Saturdays & Sundays.

Winter Wonderland exists to bring vibrancy and excitement to the Eastern Foreshore during the quieter winter months. The local Foreshore business community have truly embraced the festival by curating an exciting program of events and activities across the 23 days

Check out the WHATS ON section for full details!

I’m pregnant can I skate at Winter Wonderland Mandurah?

Your safety and the safety of your little one is paramount, for this reason alone we don’t allow you to skate at any stage of your pregnancy. It’s very easy to fall on an ice-rink and we want you to stay toasty warm and safe.

How long do we get to skate for?

Skate sessions are 45mins with 15mins to get you skate ready!

Do I have to pay to watch my child ice-skate?

Not at all! Multiple seating options, an open fire pit, cosy bar thanks to Flic’s Kitchen means skating isn’t the only thing to warm you up!  it’s free to spectate and Flic’s Kitchen Cabin Bar is the perfect place to watch your friends and family skate.

Little Skaters (Under 5) MUST be accompanied on the ice at all times by a Big Skater (16+). Both must have a valid ticket.

Please note: non-paying customers cannot access the Ice Rink or Skate Hire area.

However Parents and Guardians of children (5yrs and over) skating who DO NOT want to skate may still enter the skate hire area in order to help their children with their skates.

What is a penguin? Will it bite?

The penguins have waddled their way to the West Coast and are there to help you through the winter. The Penguins are there to help, by having something to keep you stable and to push around the rink. They are more suited for the little ones, although adults are welcome to try and NO, they don’t bite.

A limited number of penguins have made the journey; please book in advance to get your hands on one of our little friends.

The rink barriers also act as a great support for those a little unsure.

What happens if it rains?

We skate rain or shine. If it looks like wet weather please come prepared with raincoat, poncho and smile! The only sessions cancelled are those affected by electrical or severe storms. Your health and safety are our priority, and the decision to cancel a session will be announced 15mins before the session start time at the discretion of the event organisers. This is done as close to your session as possibly to give you the best chance of skating. Weather in Mandurah can be crazy and changes within minutes.

Can I cancel or transfer my booking?

Please pick your session carefully as all ticket sales are final at the checkout and cannot be changed or cancelled (unless your session is cancelled by event organisers due to weather).

However, if for some reason you can no longer attend a session, feel free to surprise a friend and pass your ticket on to someone else. As long as they’re the same price type there are no problems.

I’m having problems buying tickets, who do I contact?

If you have any questions please contact our ticket provider Ticketbooth on [email protected] or 1300 762 344.

What are double runners?

For those with little feet and questionable balance, double runner skates will be available. The Double Runners simply strap over the top of your enclosed shoe to keep your child on their feet for a bit longer. Double runners are limited so please arrive early if you require these.

Who can I contact if I have any further queries?

All Little Skaters (under 5) must be accompanied at all times on the rink by a Big Skater (16+). All skaters must have a valid ticket to enter the rink.

We ask that parents use their discretion when buying tickets for the really little ones, you will know your child better than anyone so please gauge their ability on walking, running and other leisure activities.

Generally speaking the youngest skaters are around the two year old mark, please see info on skate sizes below.

Penguin skate aids are HIGHLY recommended for Little Skaters

Big Skaters are not permitted to carry babies or Little Skaters on the ice. All skaters must wear ice skates when on the ice. Big skaters can provide a helping handing (or purchase penguin skate aid) to the Little Skaters, however carrying them in arms is not permitted.
